Every result on this page is an indicative estimate, not a quotation. Rates and exemptions change and depend on your circumstances; the notary's written quotation prevails.

Estimate the costs of a property transfer

Enter the sale price to see the usual cost categories itemised — government duties separately from professional fees and disbursements.

Who receives each amount. Registration duty and land transfer tax go to the State. Registration and transcription charges go to the Registrar-General. Notarial fees go to your notary under the statutory scale. Disbursements go to whoever performed the service — a surveyor, a valuer, a search office. No platform charge is included in this estimate, and a platform charge is never a share of a notarial fee. Nothing here is marked up by us.

Indicative estimate only. Statutory rates, exemptions (for example first-time buyer or social housing schemes), the split of costs between the parties, and the notarial tariff applicable to your matter are confirmed by the notary in a written quotation.

How the notarial fee is estimated

The estimate applies an indicative sliding scale by value band, as notarial remuneration in Mauritius is fixed by tariff on a degressive scale. The exact fee for your matter depends on the instrument, the tariff in force and any work outside the tariff — your notary will state it precisely.
