Something has gone wrong

Tell us what happened. We will work out which forum can actually deal with it, send you there, and record that we did.

What this page does — and what it does not

Most complaints go wrong because they are sent to someone who has no power to do anything about them. This page exists to prevent that.

We do not decide who is right. We are not a tribunal, an arbitrator or a mediator, and we do not have the power to bind anyone. There is no step at the end of this where we announce a winner.

There is exactly one thing we can properly answer for: our own service. Everything else belongs to someone with actual jurisdiction, and we would rather tell you that on day one than keep a matter we cannot handle.

Raise it with us

Nothing on this page costs anything. If the matter is not ours, we will say so and we will not charge you to be told.

This concerns a document, report or record produced through this platform. Tick this if it does. It changes our answer: it makes us a party to the facts, and we will tell you plainly that our view is not independent.

What we do not do

  • We do not decide complaints, find fault, or declare anyone right or wrong.
  • We do not judge a notary's professional conduct. That belongs to the Chambre des Notaires, and it would be improper for us to try.
  • We do not resolve disputes between you and another party. We were not a party to your bargain.
  • We do not charge for any of this.
  • We do not treat your account of events as established fact. We record it as your account, because that is what it is.

Our own complaints procedure, including the acknowledgement and response times, is set out at complaints. Screening and credit-file matters have their own route at disputes.
